  • 2019 Waterfront Open House

The H. Lee White Maritime Museum is proud to present Oswego's third annual "Waterfront Open House" to be held along the west pier in the Historic Maritime District on Saturday, May 18th from 1-4 pm. This event is to help promote the many fun activities on occurring along Oswego’s waterfront in 2019 and to kickoff National Safe Boating Week!

This free event allows families to visit the Museum, experience various boats up close, get the feel of sitting in a kayak, try out a virtual boat training simulator provided by the U.S. Power Squadron, and view the small sailing craft that is part of the museum's sailing program. These are just a few of the opportunities visitors will find at this event.

There will be displays for each partner organization as well as demonstration opportunities and information on upcoming water-related events. Members of the Sea Scouts will be on hand to talk about youth opportunities through their scouting program. Visitors will have an opportunity to learn more about the Oswego Lighthouse Restoration project.

This event is a partnership of the Maritime Museum, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S.C.G. Auxiliary, Oswego Expeditions, Oswego Dragon Boat Club, Oswego Police and Fire Departments, the U.S. Power Squadron and the Sodus Bay Maritime Captains' Association.
