The Maritime Museum's annual family boat building program offers you and your family the opportunity to join in on an instructional hands-on program that culminates in a completed boat for your family use. Come join us the weekend of July 19-21, and learn from our master boatwright Rich Bush and his crew as you construct your very own wooden boat at the Museum's J. Richard Pfund Boating Center.
There are several types of craft to choose from including, but not limited to: a 9-foot kayak, a 9-foot Dory Lark, or even a 12-foot Bevin Skiff rated for 600lbs (subject to availability). All materials and tools are included in the price of registration. Pre-registration and pre-payment are required to reserve your families spot. Due to the level of complexity, this program is not recommended for children under the age of 10, and groups must be at least two individuals. For information on pricing, availability, and more contact a Museum representative at 315-342-0480.
